The release of Wonder Woman 1984 has been delayed and, according to the 2017 Wonder Woman series, it is now set to take place on Christmas Day, December 25. The movie was supposed to be released in December last year, but was postponed for a month to include Star Wars: Skywalker Rise. After that, it was held in June for a summer release in the US. Unfortunately, things went awry because the epidemic caused theaters to close and the movie to be postponed again.
According to Variety, Wonder Woman 1984 has been postponed to December 25, Christmas Day. He quotes Toby Emmerich, chairman of Warmer Bros. Motion Picture Group, the report says the studio is very proud of the film and looks forward to bringing it to the audience over the holidays.
Patty Jenkins, the film's director, was quoted as saying, “Because I know how important it is to bring this movie to you on a big screen where we can all share the experience together, I hope the mind doesn't wait just a moment. On New Year's Day, we can't wait to spend the holidays with you! ”
The delay in release at this time, was caused by a studio that was looking for a large audience in theaters, hoping it would happen on Christmasmans day. Seeing that Christopher Nolan's Tenet had a warm opening on Labor Day weekend, the studio wants to wait for WW84.
The first date for the release of Wonder Woman 1984 was December 2019, but [it was held monthly as Disney's Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was scheduled for release in December. Subsequently, the studio decided on a summer release for the Gal Gadot star and forced the release date to June 5. As the coronavirus epidemic disrupted everything, the release was postponed to August 14th.
